Sigma Tau Delta 2022 Midwest Regional Virtual Conference: Revolutions and Renaissances Paper
Passing: The Harlem Renaissance and Romantic Presentism is a 7-page paper focused on Nella Larsen’s novel Passing and Rebecca Hall’s film adaptation of the same name. I worked collaboratively in a 5-person team to compare the film’s prevalence during a historical period versus our contemporary time. We also discussed the meaning of “passing” in terms of race and beauty standards in conversation with the systems of classism and colorism.

Sigma Tau Delta 2021 International Virtual Convention Roundtable
Written on the Body: Horror Perverts Female Change was a roundtable discussion centered around the convention theme, ‘Metamorphosis’. In a group with 4 other women, we investigated the disproportionate representation of female bodies in the horror genre. We analyzed films and novels concerned with adolescence, menstrual cycles, and pregnancy, and discussed how horror and popular culture contributes to a skewed perception of women.
